To call another Polycom video unit, or any other compliant H.323 system, bring up the VideoUnit welcome page on one of the video screens and type the IP address for the remote unit in the box shown. Our VideoUnit can be reached either by hepvideo.uoregon.edu or the static IP address 128.223.21.65.

Certain Polycom units have trouble connecting point-to-point if they are set up to connect to ESNet via the ESNet Gatekeeper. This is true for our unit as well, so the ESNet gatekeeper is disabled by default on our unit. Typical symptoms of this problem are a video connection but no audio. One workaround is to connect to the ESNet address for the remote system instead. This will typically be the ESNet user number XXXX followed by gk1.es.net to give XXXX@gk1.es.net. The other solution is to have the remote site turn off the gatekeeper function.
